The story
The Retrograde Peak abstracts the familiar tulip silhouette of the Retrograde series into a lower, saucer-like form perched on a shortened base. Leaning further into mid-century modern design, its broad profile is finished in a glassy speckled glaze that drifts from warm yellow into cool ash grey. The hand of the artist remains evident throughout — subtle irregularities and surface variation grounding the piece in the tactile language of handmade ceramics.
