The story
The Tablet Obscura lamp by Megan Macdonald.
Hand-thrown from Saskatchewan White Mud clay, the body is formed from a speckled, groggy porcelain-like stoneware that carries the memory of the prairie in its surface. The linen shade conceals the bulb entirely, allowing the light to emerge indirectly—soft, ambient, and slightly mysterious.
Its name, Tablet Obscura, borrows from the language of optics. Like a camera obscura, where light is mediated and transformed, this lamp obscures its source, revealing only the glow itself.
